About the firm
Cruz Law was founded by Jason Cruz, a trial lawyer focused exclusively on family law and criminal defense, known for determined courtroom advocacy and practical, realistic counsel.
Plenty of firms talk about experience. Jason built his in the trenches, starting his career as a public defender, where the stakes are real from the first day. He has stood beside nearly a thousand clients, from felony and misdemeanor trials to hundreds of motion hearings. His experience comes from where cases are actually decided: the courtroom.
After the public defender's office, Jason turned to the other half of his practice at one of Colorado's largest family law firms, where he handled high-asset divorces, complex paternity disputes, high-conflict parenting cases, and the full range of matters that reach into a family's life.
Today, that experience is what every client gets at Cruz Law: large-firm caliber representation with the direct attorney access only a smaller practice can offer. Other lawyers lean on that depth as well. Jason consults with family law attorneys on cases where family and criminal law intersect, and he has led training for Colorado family law attorneys on what they need to know when their clients face criminal charges.
