Where we practice
Criminal Defense across the Denver metro.
Criminal Defense at Cruz Law starts with the person. Our founder, Jason Cruz, began his career as a public defender before building the firm, and we bring that courtroom experience to every DUI and DWAI, every misdemeanor and felony, and every municipal charge.
We appear where these cases are heard. In Denver, Colorado's Second Judicial District, criminal cases for both Denver District Court and Denver County Court are tried at the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse at 520 West Colfax Avenue. We also defend clients in the Broomfield Combined Courts and the Adams County Justice Center in Brighton, in the 17th Judicial District, in the Jefferson Combined Court in Golden, in the Boulder County Combined Court, and in city courts such as Westminster Municipal Court.
We meet clients at our Cherry Creek office at 501 South Cherry Street in Denver and our Broomfield office at 11001 West 120th Ave. The first call is a free consultation: we listen to what happened, explain the charge and the deadlines already running, and say what we would do next.
More about the courts where we practice: Denver, Cherry Creek, Lakewood, Westminster, Broomfield, Boulder, and Douglas County.
Plain answers
Criminal Defense questions, answered.
Two cases start at once: the criminal case in court, and a separate DMV case over your license. You have 7 days from the revocation notice to request the DMV hearing. Miss it and the revocation starts on its own. Call us the day it happens.
It depends on how the case ends, and that is exactly why the early decisions matter. Outcomes like a dismissal or a completed deferred judgment are now usually sealed automatically when the case ends. A DUI conviction in Colorado cannot be. Fighting for the right outcome up front is what keeps your options open afterward.
You will know before you sign, in writing. Where the work is predictable we quote a flat fee. Where it is hourly, we talk before any big spend.
Promptly, calls and emails alike. That is the promise this practice is built on. When we are in court and cannot pick up, you will know, and you will hear back.
